Logistics & Safety
The safety and logistics of these trips have been carefully studied and optimized from preceding expeditions.
Todays snow machines are more reliable and more adapted to greater performance than those in the past. They also burn cleaner. Clothing and equipment is also lighter and more durable.
The many expeditions that we have taken throughout the north have taught us how to maximize safety and comfort. It is winthin these great boundaries of experience that we want you to enjoy these trips. We will be equipped with GPS and satellite phones.
The Cold
The cold will be there to meet us. However, once you are properly equipped the cold is very tolerable. It is not comparable to the moist cold of Europe. You will appreciate –43c without a problem if you are dressed properly.
Being an athlete is unnecesary A good general state of health particularly spine and knees is important but a good attitude, enthusiasm and a willingness to cooperate with team mates is what you need to enjoy this trip.
These expeditions progress one step at a time in an unpressured fashion. Success is gained by traveling moment to moment and dealing with whatever comes up. This immediacy of present tense is called living on Yukon time.
